Remarks on the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev model
Abstract: We study a quantum mechanical model proposed by Sachdev, Ye and Kitaev. The model consists of N Majorana fermions with random interactions of a few fermions at a time. It it tractable in the large N limit, where the classical variable is a bilocal fermion bilinear. The model becomes strongly interacting at low energies where it develops an emergent conformal symmetry. We study two and four point functions of the fundamental fermions. This provides the spectrum of physical excitations for the bilocal field. The …

“…One can see a really good agreement between theory and numerics at low frequencies. We notice that since α A 1 term is subleading we can not fix it with good precision, in contrast α A 0 can be fixed with high accuracy and our result agrees well with previous computation of this term in [6].…”

“…For initial N ÉEL state, the beneficial effect of the memory effect of L = σ z to the emergence of quantum information scrambling can also be seen in Figs. 16 and 17, which are consistent with those shown in Figs. 6 and 7.…”

“…Agreement with exact numerical results is excellent and is consistent with moments that are accurate including order 1/N corrections. Our results also agree with the free energy in the large N, q limit studied in [2] by completely different methods.…”
