Setting the cornerstone for a family of models for gravitational waves from compact binaries: The dominant harmonic for nonprecessing quasicircular black holes

Abstract: In this paper we present IMRPHENOMXAS, a thorough overhaul of the IMRPHENOMD [S. Husa et al., Phys. Rev. D 93, 044006 (2016); S. Khan et al., Phys. Rev. D 93, 044007 (2016)] waveform model, which describes the dominant l ¼ 2, jmj ¼ 2 spherical harmonic mode of nonprecessing coalescing black holes in terms of piecewise closed form expressions in the frequency domain. Improvements include in particular the accurate treatment of unequal spin effects, and the inclusion of extreme mass ratio waveforms. IMRPHENOMD … Show more

“…In fig. 4 show the posterior distributions for the masses and spins, which differ slightly, consistent with similar reanalyses of this event [58,59]. The results obtained with AS-PIRE are fully consistent with a baseline analysis, while requiring 4 times fewer likelihood evaluations per sample, which corresponds to a 7-fold reduction in time per sample.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…The main improvements from PhenomD include, e.g., i) the larger number of input NR waveforms for calibrations increased from 19 to 652, broadening the coverage of the mass ratio from 1 : 18 to 1 : 1000 with the help of BBH merger simulations in the small mass-ratio limit produced by EOB-BHP approach [97,98,99], ii) the higher dimensionality the model parameter space enlarged from 2 to 3, using the symmetric mass ratio and two spin components (orthogonal to the orbital plane); further improvements are summarized in Sec.X of Ref. [160]. These improvements resolve various shortcoming of PhenomD family and drastically improves the accuracy.…”

“…To our knowledge, it seems that FEOB/NR has never been directly computed all over the 534 spin-aligned datasets currently available 13 . It should be mentioned, though, that there exists a comparison between SEOBNRv4HM and the NR surrogate [22]. The purpose of this section is to complement the results of Ref.…”
