“…In line with previous studies, our results indicate that the FIP model can be an effective tool for guiding change towards sustainability (e.g. Cannon et al., ; Sampson et al., ), with over half of the projects in our dataset demonstrating better fishing practices, policy and/or outcomes. However, a considerable proportion (40 %) of projects had yet not demonstrated improvements, signifying that FIP enrolment alone may not be sufficient to effect positive change.…”

“…Finally, our study does not support previous findings that FIPs in the developing world are underperforming compared to those in the developed world (Sampson et al, 2015). Rather, our results suggest that a FIP's ability to demonstrate improvements is not affected by a fishery's socio-economic settings (similar to Cannon et al, 2018), as measured here using human development and world governance indices (HDI and WGI, respectively). There is a well-developed narrative that outlines the struggle for developing world fisheries to engage with the MSC program (e.g.…”

“…improvement projects offer a unique means to improve fisheries sustainability by drawing on the power of the market to inspire change; however, their potential for advancing global sustainability goals depends on their ability to make improvements in diverse fishery settings. In line with previous studies, our results indicate that the FIP model can be an effective tool for guiding change towards sustainability (e.g Cannon et al, 2018;Sampson et al, 2015),. with over half of the projects in our dataset demonstrating better fishing practices, policy and/or outcomes.…”

“…For example, previous studies have differed in their conclusions regarding FIP effectiveness across diverse fishery conditions: using data from over 100 fisheries, Sampson et al (2015) suggested that FIPs in the developing world underperformed compared to those in the developing world. A more recent study (using a similar sample size), however, found no difference in FIP performance according to socio-economic status (Cannon et al, 2018).…”

“…This approach aligns with previous studies of FIP performance (e.g. Cannon et al., ; Sampson et al., ), and by using this measure of effectiveness, we were able to include all FIPs listed on Fishery Progress , regardless of initial baseline performance or improvement goals. Additionally, the use of FIP stage to score effectiveness ensured each FIP was assessed against its own individual improvement aims and stated workplan activities.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.
